I ordered direct through Tuffy because Amazon has a 1-3 month ship time. The price was $7 more but Tuffy shopped immediately. I received my lockbox 6 days later. Initial impressions were good. Seems to hav a nice black powder coat finish. The box is made of sturdy, heavy gage metal. The locking mechanism functioned fine. I installed this box in my 2012 Tacoma using the recommended tools. Installation went smooth and was complete in roughly 30-40 min. I did have to trim a small amount of plastic off the back of the OEM console latch to improve clearance for opening. No big deal. So far I’m very happy with this product! I have recommended it to a few fellow coworkers.

Installation in a 2013 Toyota Tacoma was appallingly difficult. The instructions did not help because they were so vague and the product wes so sloppily engineered that resorting to prayer would have been just as effective. Worse than that, there are no sides on this unit. That means I could easily take a large hunting knife to punch through the side of the console unit and access the items inside. The product is essentially a lid on poorly fitting stilts that provides the illusion of security and provides relief from an attack through the top. Obviously I am dissatisfied with my purchase. And when I tried to get installation help from the company, all I got was sarcasm. Bad product. Bad customer service. Yay.

Love it! Very clever and useful. Completely stealth and works as advertised. Install was a bit difficult. I had to try 3 different approaches to get it positioned properly. Mind you I'm not complaining, it just took a bit of creative thinking, some choice words and a solid set of problem solving skills. In all truth, it is a great product and in all fairness I think it was designed to be difficult. Think about someone wanting to get into it.

It works but the install process is ridiculous. Directions are weak at best. You need 3 miniature hands to get this thing
