As most others mentioned, the instructions are fairly poor. At 6'6" trying to gain access to the tight space is a challenge due to the design, but it still didn't take too long. It's a good looking product and secure. The QC on the welds could have been a little better as they puddled in several areas that made slipping the legs into position for screws very difficult. I would still say 5 stars on the product and 2 for the instructions. They provided no instructions in the box for mine and I had to pull them up on the web and take the laptop to the Jeep.

Nice when installed but a terrible terrible installation project. Impossible to install without child like hands. Really poor design and would not recommend for purchase as a result. This could have been designed for a much easier installation.

It was a tight squeeze getting this product installed. Other than the tight squeeze, the install was not too difficult. I elected for the combination lock upgrade. I have now used this product for a few months and to this point I love it. The mechanical movement of the lock feels solid and it is easy to change the combination. It is a very handy place to keep things secure. I suggest that Tuffy build a shallow insert to cover/conceal the lock and allow you to store small items over the vault. This might also throw off thieves, especially if the tray can be secured somehow (they may not realize their is a space under the tray). Seem likes a high margin accessory too injection molded tray). I'll be creating my own.

Great product once installed. Tough install though. Good instructions, but tight fit. I needed assistance from my wife and her smaller hands. 2 tips: 1) pre-assemble outside of vehicle to get a picture of how things come together inside the console. 2) Be sure to have proper tools to do install-- small wrenches, etc. Also the final (Cap screw) needs a hex wrench or Allen wrench. I used small wratchet which worked fine. Lid support assembly kept getting in the way, so while I was putting in the fill plates and braces I just taped it up against the lid . 4) Much patience needed. This is tedious and at times frustrating install, but finished product seems top notch.

First be aware his will make your useable space in the console smaller. Second, it built well and it is strong. Third, it is very hard to put together as you need both hands in the console to put the screws and bolts in. I almost gave up but after an hour and a half I finally got it. If I knew how hard the installation was I would not have ordered. Tuffy could have made it go together with snap locks instead of screws and bolts. Very poor design for installation purposes. 5 stars for quality of a lock box but 1 star on design so I gave it a 3 star.
